WALTER EKKERT

Walter Ekkert was born June 5 in Landskrone, Fernheim, Paraguay. He grew up Landskrone and was a good student and friend. During his eighteenth year, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour a was baptized August 6, 1966 and received into the Mennonite Brethren Church Blumental.

In October, 1971, he migrated to Canada where he joined the Culloden Mennonite Brethren Church in Vancouver. He remained a member there until his early and sudden death August 17, at the age of 26.

Left to mourn are his parents, Jacob and Tina Ekkert; his brothers: Henry, Arthur Friedrich, Herbert, Rudolf, and Harold, of Vancouver; his sisters: Helga, with husband Heinz Friesen, and Marlene, with husband Richard Bartel, both still in Paruguay; his grandparents, Jacob Penners; and a great company of relatives and friends.
