Well-Known Mt. Lake Girl Dies Suddenly in California

Mt. Lake, Minn., Feb. 14. — Marie C. Eitzen, well known to many here, died at a Los Angeles, California, hospital, Tuesday, following a serious operation. She was taken ill suddenly on Sunday, operated on Monday, and her condition was at once critical, as was attested by a telegram received Tuesday morning. Wednesday morning Geo. F. Eitzen received a telegram stating that death had come on Tuesday afternoon at three-thirteen.

According to the telegram received here, funeral services will be conducted in Bakersfield, California, where Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Eitzen, her parents, live, on Thursday, and then the body will be shipped to Mountain Lake for services and burial here.

Deceased was born in 1902, and attained the age of only 27 years, 3 months, and 15 days. She is survived by her half-brother Harry and half-sister, father and step-mother, her grandmother, Mrs. Jacob Funk at Butterfield; an uncle, Cornelius Funk and two aunts, Mrs. John F. Enns and Mrs. John A. Rempel, all of Butterfield, besides a large number of other relatives here, as well as at Butterfield. Her mother preceded her some twenty years ago.
