WILLIAM EICHELBERGER

William Eichelberger, son of Peter and Catherine Ackerman Eichelberger, was born Sept. 1, 1892 in Gridley, Ill. He passed to his eternal reward very suddenly at his home of a heart attack on August 14, 1962 at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 14 days.

In his youth he accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at the Hopedale Mennonite Church. Later he united with the Sugar Creek Church of Wayland, Iowa, of which he was a faithful member until death.

On Sept. 18, 1919 he was married to Katie Graber who survives. To this union were born seven children: Alie of Swedesburg, Iowa, Alice, Mrs. Paul Martin of La Junta, Colo., Aldine, Mrs. Martin Wyse, and Calvin of Wayland, Donna, Mrs. Leon Horst of Hesston, Kansas, Orrin of Rocky Ford, Colo., and Anita, Mrs. Johnny Swartzendruber of Wayland. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Marie Ingersol of Mason City, Ill. His parents and two brothers, Chris and Albert, preceded him in death.

He will always be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father who was deeply concerned about the spiritual welfare of others.

Funeral services were held at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in charge of Simon Gingerich, Vernon Gerig and Glen Richard.
