DANIEL H. EGLI

Daniel H. Egli, son of the late Joseph and Mary Birky Egli, was born near Minier, Ill. on July 5, 1895. He departed this life in his home in Hopedale, Ill. on April 20, 1961, at the age of 65 years. He was married to Edna Baughman on April 8, 1926 at Normal, Ill.

Surviving are the widow and two children, Mrs. Francis (Doris) Sutter of Hopedale and Delmar Egli of Oak Forrest [sic Oak Forest], Ill. Also surviving are three grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Lavina Grieser of Hartstown, Pa.; three half-sisters, Mrs. Lydia Miller of Middlebury, Ind., Mrs. Emma Fleener of Lowell, Ind., and Mrs. Lena Miller of Conneaut Lake, Pa. Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Boynton Mennonite Church, where he took active part in the Sunday school and in the music of the church. He was serving as chairman of the church board at the time of his death. He had a deep concern in all activities of the church.

He had resided in Hopedale the past 27 years. Prior to that time he had resided in Manson, Iowa. He had been barbering in Minier and was to retire from that profession within a short time.

Funeral services were held at the Hopedale Mennonite Church with Rev. H. N. Harder, pastor of the Normal Mennonite Church, officiating, assisted by Rev. Ivan Kauffman, pastor of the Hopedale Mennonite Church.
