CLIFFORD DEAN EGLI

Clifford Dean Egli, son of John and Rosie (Good) Egli, was born near Hopedale, Ill. on Jan. 10, 1940. He was instantly killed on April 7, 1958, in an auto accident near Tremont, Ill. on Route 121. The length of his earthly life was 18 years, two months and 27 days.

He had attended Hopedale Grade and High schools. At the time of death he was employed on a farm near his home.

On Jan. 15, 1952, he was baptized and received as a member of the Hopedale Mennonite Church where he had attended services during his lifetime.

Surviving are his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys (Milo) Zehr of Foosland, Ill. and Lois at home; two half-sisters, Grace of Cullom, Ill. and Florence of Bloomington, Ill.; three brothers, Lester of Wolcottville, Ind., Glen of Manitowoc, Wisc. and Joe at home; two half-brothers, Arthur of Merton, Ill. and Ivan of East Peoria, Ill. Also surviving are many relatives and friends. His presence will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

“The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:21).

Funeral services were held on April 9, 1958, at the home and at the Hopedale Mennonite church in charge of Ivan Kauffman and Ben Springer. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
