Husband, Wife Killed in Motorcycle Crash

Hutchinson, Kan. — Double funeral services were held here Tuesday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church for a husband and wife who were killed in a motorcycle accident early Sunday morning.

Lloyd Ediger, 45, and his wife, Pauline, 43, were fatally injured west of Hutchinson on K96 in a collision with a car driven by David Williams, 21, of 910 West North Main. The Edigers, accompanied by another couple, were on the way home after his wife had finished her work shift at Cessna at 1 a.m.

The Williams car, traveling east, was trying to get around another vehicle which had slowed down at an intersection, and moved directly into the path of the westbound Ediger motorcycle. Ediger was thrown 26 feet and his wife 42 feet by the impact.

Survivors include their three sons, Kevin L., Mark A., and Douglas; two daughters, Debra K. and Kathy A.; his parents, Mr. and Mr. J. W. Ediger, Hutchinson, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John B. Benton, of Route 1.

Rev. Richard Ratzlaff, pastor of the First Mennonite Church, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
