CORNELIUS L. EDIGER

THERASEA (WEDEL) EDIGER

Cornelius L. Eduger was born near Inman, McPherson County, Kan. on May 31, 1900, one of nine children born to J. H. and Katherine (Baergen) Ediger. He departed this life on May 18, 1963 at Liberal, Kan. at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 18 days.

While a small boy, the family moved to Washita County, Oklo [sic Okla.] where Curt grew to manhood. He was baptized and joined the Bergthal Mennonite Church near Corn, Okla.

Therasea (Wedel) Ediger was born in Washita County, Okla. to C. T. and Gertrude (Kroeker) Wedel on Dec. 7, 1902, the oldest of five children. She departed this life on May 18, 1963 at Liberal, Kan. at the age of 60 years, five months, and 11 days.

When she was 14 years old, she was baptized and became a member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, later transferring her membership to the Bergthal Mennonite Church.

As children Curt and Therasea lived on neighboring farms and became close friends as they grew up. They were united in marriage in the Bergthal church on March 2, 1924. They made their home in Washita County until 1926 when they moved to a farm near Floris in Beaver County.

In 1948 Mr. and Mrs. Ediger moved to Turpin where he accepted the position as school custodian and she as a cook in the cafeteria. Later Mrs. Ediger became assistant to her husband. They continued in the close working relationship until the time of their death, only a few minutes apart.

They leave to mourn their passing but to cherish their memory, their three children, Mrs. Francis (Fay Mildred) Ormiston, Kismet, Kan.; William James Ediger, Richfield, Kan.; Constance June Ediger, Denver, Colo., and seven grand children.

In addition, Mrs. Ediger is survived by her father, C. T. Wedel, Shafter, Calif., two brothers, Arthur Wedel, Okmulgee, Okla., and Herbert Wedel, Fresno, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. Clara Janzen, Enid, Okla.

Mr. Ediger is survived by four brothers, Paul and Albert Ediger, Liberal, Bill Ediger, Yuma, Colo., Barney Ediger, Woodburn, Oregon; and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Hinz and Mrs. Arthur Hinz, Corn, Okla. Both Mr. and Mrs. Ediger leave a host of other relatives and friends.
