ALBERT EDIGER

Albert Ediger, 70, of route 1, Liberal, Kan. died Aug 10, 1973, in the Beaver, Okla. hospital, where he had been a patient since the previous Wednesday. Mr. Ediger had been in ill health for several months.

He was born on Dec. 10, 1902 at Buhler, Kan. the fifth of ten children, to Jacob A. and katherine Ediger. As a small boy he moved with his parents to Hydro, Okla. and later to Corn, Okla. where he grew to manhood.

He was married to Marie Franzen on Nov. 27, 1924, in Beaver County, Oklahoma. To this union were born two sons. They resided at Corn until 1927 when they moved to Beaver County where he farmed until his death.

Albert was a member of the Turpin Mennonite Church, Turpin, Okla. Until a few months ago when his eyesight failed, he read and meditated on the Word of the Lord constantly. Through all his suffering he was content and patient. On the morning that he left home for his final hospital confinement his meditation was; “Thank God for salvation.”

He is survived by his wife, Marie; two sons, Ed and wife Chris of Otis, Colo. and Walt and wife Sue of Akron, Colo.; three brothers, Barney of Woodburn, Ore., Bill and wife Irma of Yuma, Colo., and Paul and wife Sara of Liberal, Kan.; one sister, Helen and husband Henry Hinz of Corn, Okla.; four grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Annie and Elizabeth Fransen, both of Liberal.

Funeral services were held at the Turpin Mennonite Church at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 14. Officiating ministers were Rev. Willard Stucky, the pastor, and Rev. Peter Retzlaff from Coaldale, Alverta. Burial was in the Mennonite Cemetery.
