One Dead, Four Injured In Crash near Archbold

Archbold, Ohio. — A traffic accident near here late Saturday afternoon, Nov. 20, claimed one life and resulted in injuries to four other persons.

Dead is Mrs. Lowell L. Edge, 53, of Archbold, who taught special education at the Chesterfield School. She was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, who was later taken to Toledo Hospital in serious condition with a concussion, chest and leg injuries.

Officers reported that as Mr. Edge attempted a left turn at a driveway his car was hit by an oncoming vehicle driven by Charles J. Sauder of rural Archbold. Mrs. Sauder and two other passengers, Mrs. Aden E. Storrer of rural Archbold and Mrs. Chauncey Beck of Archbold were all admitted to Detwiler Hospital. Mrs. Storrer, who suffered a cracked jaw and facial injuries, was later taken to Mercy Hospital, Toledo.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edge were held at the Free Methodist Church in West Unity.
