ROY A. EBERSOLE

Roy A. Ebersole, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ebersole, was born August 29, 1885 at Ayr, Neb., and passed through the gate of death on June 10, 1960, at the Halstead hospital, Halstead, Kan., at the age of 74 years, nine months and twelve days. Death resulted from chronic nephritis.

As a young man he moved to La Junta, Colo., and attended Hesston Academy at Hesston, Kan., in 1909.

On June 23, 1912 he was united in marriage to Bessie Brenneman of Peabody, Kan. Following 1919, they resided at Lake Charles, La., and Tvleta [sic Tuleta], Tex. for a period of three years. After being at home at Elkhart, Ind. for 25 years, they returned to Hesston in 1948. A retired painter, Mr. Ebersole was employed for the past five years as custodian at the Hesston Mennonite Church.

Survivors, besides his widow, are a daughter, Mrs. Ivan (Ethel) Lind of Milford, Neb., a son, Lester O. of Phoenix, Ariz., two brothers, Edwin of Elkhart, and Reuben of Buhl, Idaho; one sister, Miss Anna Ebersole of La Junta, Colo. and seven grandchildren.

In his early youth, Mr. Ebersole accepted Christ as his Saviour and Lord, and united with the Mennonite church at Ayr, Neb. He had a lively interest in the work and activities of the church throughout his life, and served the church in varying capacities as a layman through the years. He was affiliated with the Hesston Mennonite Church at the time of his death.

Funeral services were held at the Hesston church Monday, June 13, P. A. Friesen and Peter B. Wiebe in charge. Internment [sic] was made at the Hesston Community cemetery.
