• Mrs. Katharina P. Dyck, a resident of the Buhler community most of her life, died at Sunshine Home there on July 23 at the age of 91. She was a sister of A. W. Matthies of Hesston, George Matthies of Newton, and Mrs. Lizzlie [sic Lizzie] Regier of Buhler. Born in South Russia in 1882, she came to this community at an early age and was married to Jacob W. Loewen at Buhler in 1906. He died in 1933, and in 1945 she married Herman Dyck. He died in 1957. She was an original administrator of Sunshine Home and a member of the Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church, where the funeral was conducted Saturday forenoon with Rev. C. F. Plett officiating. Also surviving are two sons, Frank Loewen of Mineral Wells, Tex. and Clifton Loewen of New Haven, Conn.; two daughters, Katherine Loewen of South Hutchinson and Mrs. Nellie Fast of Hooker, Okla.; two step-daughters; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
