JOHN P. DYCK

John P. Dyck of Winkler, Man. passed away Nov. 24. He was born Mar. 14, 1899 to Peter and Anna Dyck in the Blumstein School District of Manitoba. He finished grade 10 at Blumstein School and spent his youth working on his father's farm and then a few years at the mill in Winkler. He married the local school teacher, Tina Enns, Oct. 17, 1920. They move d to Burwalde, Man., where they farmed until 1966. He was baptized and joined Winkler MB Church as a young married man. In 1966 they retired to Winkler. In 1976-77 he became afflicted with Parkinson's disease, which initially responded dramatically to treatment. His condition deteriorated progressively and he entered Salem Home in October, 1984. Predeceased by his wife in January, 1985, 1 infant son and 1 great granddaughter in 1990, he is mourned by his children Josephine Enns of Winkler, Katherine of Winkler, Peter of Winnipeg, Helen Friesen of Winkler, Irene Wallace of Brandon, Man., John of Winnipeg and Don of Winkler; 25 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother. The funeral was Nov. 27 in Winkler MB Church, with Wally Klassen and Jake Neufeld ministering.
