Jacob Dyck

Jacob Dyck was born October 20, 1850, at Pletzendorf, West Prussia, Germany. In 1868 he united with the Mennonite Church at Liegenhagen. He immigrated to the United States in 1873, returning to Germany the following year. However he returned to the United States in 1875 and established a permanent home.

In 1877 he was united in marriage to Helene Riesen and immediately settled on a farm south of Halstead where he remained until 1909 when he moved to Halstead where he had lived until his death on April 20th. He reached the age of 75 years and 6 months.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, three sons, Henry of Halstead, John of Las Animas, Colo., and Max of Fowler, Kans., six grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Peter Penner, of this city, and five brothers who reside in Germany.
