Unexpected Death Overtakes J. S. Dyck, Missionary in Okla.

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD AT M. B. CHURCH AT DINUBA, CALIFORNIA

Enid, Okla. — While busy at work on the mission premises, Rev. J. S. Dyck, 47, missionary in charge at the Indiahoma Mennonite mission for about a year, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, march 19. Rev. Dyck had served as missionary in China for several terms, but had returned home with his family about two years ago because of the grave turn of affairs in the Far East.

He and his family moved to the Oklahoma mission on the call of the mission board, following the retirment [sic] of Rev. Becker, veteran worker at that station.

A fellow worker found his lifeless body, lying on the ground face downward, death having been caused by apoplexy.

Funeral services at the mission church, held Monday, march 23, were conducted by Dr. H. W. Lohrenz of Hillsboro, Kansas. from there the body was shipped to Dinuba, Calif., where interment took place. Funeral services there were conducted by Rev. G. B. Huebert, pastor of the Mennonite Brethren church at Reedley.
