DOROTHEA J. DYCK

Dorothea J. Dyck, 87, of North Newton, Kan., died March 3, 2001, at Kidron Bethel Health Care. She was born Dec. 24, 1913, at Elbing, the daughter of Henry J. and Katie Regier Dyck.

She retired after 20 years as executive secretary for the Women's Missionary Association of the General Conference Mennonite Church. She was a nurse aide for eight years. She was a member of the American Bible Society. She was a member of First Mennonite Church of Newton, where she taught Bible school and Sunday school. She enjoyed hymns and the stories of how they were written.

She is survived by two nephews, Gerald Dyck of Assonet, Mass., and Gordon Dyck of Goshen, Ind.; and two nieces, Evelyn Bertsche of Normal, Ill., and Cindy Regier of Newton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter H.; and a sister, Gertrude Dyck.

Services were held at First Mennonite Church of Newton. Burial was at Zion Mennonite Cenetery, rural Elbing.
