MRS. ANNA DYCK

Mrs. Anna Claassen Dyck, wife of Abraham Dyck, was born in Kunsendorf, bei Marienburg, West Prussia on Oct 24, 1871. She came to America with her father, Jacob E. Claassen and family, in October 1888. She was baptized by Elder Henry Penner and received into the membership of the Mennonite church while yet in Germany.

She was married to Abraham Dyck in Beatrice Nebraska on Oct 1, 1891. In 1901 the family moved to the Paso Robles, California area, where they have since made their home. Nearly eight years ago they were permitted under God's grace,to commemorate their Golden Wedding anniversary.

In recent months she had been unable to attend church services because of ill health. However God in his grace made it possible for her to be present and participate in the Communion service at the church on June 19, which brought her immeasurable joy and blessing.

Though she had not been well for some time, the end came suddenly. Being awakened out of sleep, she sat up in bed and said to those who were able to reach her bedside, "The end has come, I will not be here long." And so, shortly after the arrival of the physician, she passed away very peacefully in the consciousness that a heavenly home awaited her, on August 24, 1949, at the age of 77 years and 10 months.

She is survived by her husband and 10 children as follows: Marie, Mrs. Gustav Wiebe; Henry J. Dyck; Anna, Mrs. John Hamm, Katie at the home, Helen, Mrs. John P. Dueck, all of Paso Robles, Herman, of Wheaton, Ill., John Dyck, Elsie, Mrs. Archie McKennon, William Dyck, and Agnetha, Mrs. Alfred Bergman, all of Paso Robles. Also surviving are 43 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, eight brothers and three sisters. One daughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held on August 27 at the Second Mennonite church, Beatrice, conducted by her pastor, using Phil. 1:21, 23 and I Thess. 4:17, last clause. Burial in the church cemetery. Music was presented by a male quartet.
