• Albert J. Dyck, former Newton resident, died on May 29 of a heart attack at Peabody. Services were held June 1 in the Emmaus Mennonite Church of Whitewater. Survivors include his widow, Mariann; a son, Willis, Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Cook, Denver; three brothers and one sister.

ALBERT J. DYCK

Albert J. Dyck was born Aug. 27, 1914 to John and Anna Bartel Dyck. He spent his entire life in the Elbing, Whitewater and Peabody communities.

In his youth he accepted the Lord as his Savior, was baptized in the Emmaus Church and joined the fellowship of that church.

He was married to Mariann Rempel on Oct. 9, 1935. They spent almost 34 years together. He was a trucker and farmer. This union was blessed with five children, Willis, Virginia, Gene, Barbara and Norma. In June 1958 the three youngest children met with a tragic death. After this he gave up trucking but continued to farm. The last three and one-half years he worked at Excell, Inc. in Hesston which work he enjoyed a great deal.

He underwent major surgery on March 31 and God granted him two more months of life. He died of a heart attack on May 29, 1969.

He was always concerned about his children and grandchildren and the temptations they face as they grow up.

He leaves to mourn his wife Mariann; one son, Willis and wife Alyce and family of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Cook and family of Denver, Colo.; three brothers, Elmer, John and Ralph, and a sister, Mrs. Helen Wiens, all of Newton; and a host of relatives and friends.
