FAMOUS STORY WRITER CALLED AWAY IN DEATH

Lloyd C. Douglas, an ordained Lutheran minister and famous writer of religious novels, died Feb. 14 [sic Feb. 13] at Los Angeles of heart disease. He was 73 years old.

Among Douglas’ best sellers were “The Robe,” “White Banners,” and “The Big Fisherman.”

He had suffered from arthritis sinc [sic] 1944 and his condition had grown steadily worse in recent months. He was six feet tall and weighed 200 pounds when in good [end of article in original].
