SAMUEL HAROLD DOERKSEN

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home, Abbotsford, for Samuel Harold Doerksen, late of 1457-248 Street, Aldergrove and formerly of North Surrey, who passed away in the Royal Columbian Hospital, September 18, at the age of 44. Officiating at the services were the Rev. Milton Johnson and the Rev. Henry Young. Interment followed in the Mennonite section of Hazelwood cemetery.

Mr. Doerksen was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan and had lived in British Columbia for the past 26 years. He was a salesman by occupation. In the year 1939 he found Christ as his personal Saviour, was baptized and accepted into the membership of the Main Centre (Sask.) Church. On December 23, 1950, he was united in marriage to Miss Kathleen Dand, in the Alliance Church, Vancouver, B.C.

Surviving are his wife Kathleen; three daughters, Brenda, Beryl and Barry, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob H. Doerksen, Clearbrook; six sisters, Mrs. Walter Schmidt, Abbotsford; Miss Lillian Doerksen, India; Mrs. George Sourriseau, Winnipeg; Mrs. Harold Ratzlaff, Vancouver; Mrs. Albert Reimer, Rapid City, South Dakota and Mrs. Ronald Neufeld, Salinas, California; one brother, John E. of Winnipeg. He will be missed, but there is comfort in the anticipation of meeting again.
