(MRS.) LYDIA DIRKSON

Lydia Dirkson, 70, of Beechy, Sask., beloved wife of George Dirkson, passed away March 25 in the University Hospital, Saskatoon. She had been in failing health for some months. Mrs. Dirkson (nee Schiller) was born in Russia on March 20, 1898. She was married to George Dirkson in 1919 and in 1923 they emigrated to Canada, settling first at Main Centre, Sask. After two years they moved to Beechy where they resided until Mrs. Dirkson's death. Mrs. Dirkson accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour and was baptized upon her confession of faith in 1949. Thereupon she was received into the fellowship of the Beechy Mennonite Brethren Church.

She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Mrs. John (Hanna) Whiteman of Saskatoon, Mrs. Ed (Ella) Holden of Beechy, Lena of Saskatoon and Anne of Beechy; six sons, Bernard of Rush Lake, Sask., Jake of New Westminster, B.C., Arthur of Medicine Hat, Henry and David at Beechy and George at Moose Jaw. The funeral was in the Beechy Church on March 28 with Rev. E. J. Lautermilch ministering.
