Peter A. Dirks

Peter A. Dirks, 87, for 30 years a well known resident of Monroe, Wash., died Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Mead, Washington, at the home of his son, Peter, where in his declining years he had gone to make his home.

A native of Russia, where he was born in February, 1853, he had been a citizen of the United States for 60 years. Monroe, Washington, was his home up until 1933, when impaired health forced his removal to Spokane to the home of his son.

He is survived by four sons, William of Aberdeen, Idaho, Peter of mead, Washington; John and Henry of Monroe, two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Scott of Spokane, and also a host of friends and relatives.

Services were held on Friday, Dec. 6, with Rev. M. M. Lehman officiating at the Mennonite church of which Mr. Dirks was a life long member.
