Mrs. J. P. Dirks.

Mrs. Elisabeth Schultz Dirks daughter of Christian and Helena Schultz, was born September 6, 1880, at Pawnee Rock, Kansas. She went to her heavenly home on November 5, 1938. She reached the age of 58 years, 1 month and 29 days. She had been in failing health for many years. She suffered patiently and never complained. She loved her lord, often talked of the heavenly home and longed to meet her Savior there.

She grew to womanhood north of Pawnee Rock on the farm with her parents, sisters and brothers.

On February 13, 1898, she was baptized by Peter Dirks and joined the Mennonite church of which she remained a faithful member all her life. On February 23, 1898, she was united in marriage with Jacob P. Dirks. To this union were born seven children, Gertie and Elvin, to of the children, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. T. A. van der Smissen of Buhler; Mrs. Ralph Unruh of Great Bend; Mrs. Garfield Schmidt of Larned; two sons, Elmer of Cimarron and Melvin of Larned; also nine grandchildren. She leaves four brothers and seven sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. B. Schmidt from the Bergtal Mennonite church, November 7, 1938.
