AGATHA DIRKS

Agatha Dirks of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away Aug. 3. She was born Feb. 14, 1901 to Peter K. and Anna Janzen in Mountain Lake, MN. In fall they moved to Dalmeny, Sask. She accepted Christ in March, 1914, was baptized in September and joined the MB church in Dalmeny. She married Fredrick J. Dirks Oct. 16, 1921. They lived at Mennon, Sask. and Dalmeny. In October, 1947 they moved to B.C., settling in Chilliwack the next year. They joined Broadway MB Church, remaining members until their deaths. Fredrick passed away May 16, 1968. She lived with daughter Agnes and Jake Koop in Chilliwack, spending her summers with her other children in Saskatchewan. In November, 1976 she moved to Tabor Home, Clearbrook. In August, 1977 illness left her partially paralyzed, but she recovered following surgery. She maintained a great concern for the spiritual welfare of her family, portraying love in quiet ways and prayers. Predeceased by her husband, son Peter, 1 grandchild, 1 great-grandchild, 4 brothers and 1 sister, she is mourned by daughters Verna Voth, Anne Voth and Mary Peters, all of Hepburn, Sask., and Agnes Koop of Sardis, B.C.; son Edwin of Maple Ridge, B.C.; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. The funeral was Aug. 7 in Broadway MB Church, with Roy Taylor ministering.
