SARAH RABER DIENER

Sarah Raber Diener, daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth Gilliam Raber, was born near Elkton, Mo. on Aug. 17, 1877, and passed away at her home after an extended illness on Feb. 5, 1958, at the age of 80 years, five months and 20 days.

She accepted Christ as her Savior and united with the Mennonite Church in her early youth, and remained a faithful member until death.

On Dec. 5, 1895, she was united in marriage to Moses M. Diener.

She is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, George of Versailles, Mo., Edward of Canby, Ore.; four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Nebel and Alice, Beulah and Esther of the home; 23 grandchildren, three of whom were reared in her home; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Rushly of Garden City, Mo., and Mrs. J. A. Ramer of Versailles; one brother, Daniel, and a number of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Garber, two sisters, Mrs. J. A. Dettwiler and Mrs. Oliver Driver, two brothers, Abraham and an infant brother.

The Diener family moved from Johnson County to Versailles, Morgan County, Mo. in 1920 where they have since made their home. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Zion Church on Feb. 9 by Leroy Gingerich. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
