text of obituary:

MRS. HELEN WIEBE DICK

Helen Wiebe Dick, daughter of Dietrich and Elizabeth Heidebrecht Wiebe, was born on Dec. 23, 1883, in the Hope Valley community near Hillsboro, Kan. In her youth she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and was baptized by her uncle, the late Rev. Jacob Wiebe, and united with the Krimmer Mennonite Brethren Church. Later she transferred her membership to the Mennonite Brethren Church.

On Dec. 14, 1911, she was united in holy matrimony to our father, the late Rev. John B. Dick, at Hillsboro, Kan. This union, which lasted 49 years and 10 months, was blessed with two children, Olga and Roland.

Our mother loved the Lord, and in her youth she sang in the church choirs and also taught Sunday school. We have had the joy of having a praying mother, and her deeds of kindness and love spoke louder than words. We were a family that was closely knit together.

Our mother enjoyed fair health most of her days. In the past year she had a light stroke, but seemed to recover and was active to her last day. On Saturday morning, May 9, 1964, her soul departed to be with the Lord. We rejoice that she could enter in without suffering. She reached the age of 80 years, four months, and 16 days. Those who remain to mourn her departure are her two children, Olga, Mrs. Bud Kliewer of Reedley, and Roland Dick of Azusa, Calif.; on son-in-law; one daughter-in-law; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and one brother, Jacob Wiebe of Hillsboro, Kan.

The memorial service was held in the Reedley, Calif. Mennonite Brethren Church, with Rev. Dan Friesen officiating,.
