DORIS M. DICK

Doris M. Dick, 86, of Grabill, Ind., died May 30, 2007. She was born Dec. 4, 1920, to William and Mattie Stalter Beller in Graymont, Ill.

On July 12, 1947, she married Waldo Dick in Meadows, Ill.

She was a graduate of Goshen College and taught grade school in Illinois, Indiana and Kansas. Throughout her life, she was active in civic and volunteer activities. She was known for her artistic quilts and other handicrafts. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world with her husband. She helped her husband publish the two local newspapers, the Woodburn Booster and East Allen Courier, and served as editor of both. She was a charter member of Maplewood Mennonite Church of Fort Wayne.

Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years, Waldo; four children, James Van Dyke of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Susan Unruh of Wichita, Kan., John Dick of New Paris and Charles Dick of Spencerville; a sister, Carol Miller; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at Maplewood Mennonite Church. Burial was in Yaggy Cemetery in Grabill.
