MRS. FRANK J. DICK

Anna Janzen Dick, our mother, was born on Nov. 2, 1872, in South Russia, and came to the United States with her parents in 1879, settling at Henderson, Neb. Here she spent her childhood years and grew to womanhood.

She accepted Christ as her Saviour and Lord, was baptized on May 17, 1891, by Elder Peter J. Friesen and was accepted into the Bethesda Mennonite church, of which she remained a faithful member to the end.

She was united in marriage to Frank J, Dick on August 27, 1893. Mother and father were privileged to share almost 60 years of married life together before this union was broken by father's death on July 6, 1953. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters. Our parents made their home in different places — Butterfield, Minn.; Munich, North Dakota; Litchfield and O’Neill, Neb.; and for the last 34 years in Henderson.

Mother was always very conscientious and punctual about her duties as a wife and mother in the home. She was greatly concerned about the welfare of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading very much and read her Bible faithfully each day. Since father's death she was very lonesome, so she spent most of her time at the homes of her daughters, spending the last five and one-half months with the C. C. Kliewer family.

She often expressed her desire to go home to be with the Lord, as this world had no more pleasure for her. Mother had been sickly for the past year and became seriously in on Sept 26, when she suffered from a stroke. She was taken to the hospital on Sept. 28, where she passed away on Oct. 2, 1954, reaching the age of 81 years and 11 months.

She leaves to mourn her death: four children, Anna, Mrs. George Klippenstein of Henderson; Frank A. Dick of Hampton, Nebr.; John F. Dick of O’Neill, Nebr.; and Marie, Mrs. Chris C. Kliewer of Henderson; two daughters-in-law, Marie Dick and Martha Dick; two sons-in-law, George Klippenstein and Chris C. Kliewer; 11 grandchildren (1 preceded her in death); eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Abrahams and Mrs. J. J. Penner, both of Henderson, and Mrs. W. H, Rempel of Willow Brook. Calif.; two brothers, Isaac Janzen of Dallas, Oregon, and Frank Janzen of Delaven, Wis.; eight sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, many relatives and friends. — The Family.
