Retired Banker's Wife Dies at Souderton, Pa.

Souderton, Pa. — Funeral services were held at the Zion Mennonite Church Oct. 13 for Mrs. Gertrude Detwiler, 76, wife of Harry M. Detwiler, well-known retired banker here. She died at the home in Souderton Oct. 9 of a coronary occlusion.

Mrs. Detwiler was a native of this area, the daughter of Samuel R. and Mary (Hunsberger) Lengel. She attended West Chester State Teachers College and formerly taught school in the area.

She was a member of the Zion Church where she was a former president of the Women's Missionary Society and Sunday school teacher.

Mr. and Mrs. Detwiler observed their 54th wedding anniversary in June of this year. He is a director of the Souderton Savings and Loan and a member of the board of Union National Bank and Trust Co.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four children: Henry S. of Souderton; Ruth, Mrs. Arthur E. Jones of West Chester; Paul L. of Toledo, O.; and Gertrude of Davison, Mich. There are 11 grandchildren.
