RANDY L. DERKSEN

Randy LaVern Derksen, son of Leonard and Myrtle Derksen, was born Oct.31, 1954, at Dallas, Oregon. He was a healthy boy, had a cheerful disposition and was a joy to his parents, sister and brother. At an early age he was dedicated to the lord by the former pastor, the Rev. John M. Franz. He had been attending Sunday school for some time. Randy was just at the age of forming words. Among the first words he learned to say was, "Pray."

Friday, July 27, at 1:00 a. m. he became very ill. He was admitted to the local hospital, where he suffered much. He departed to be with the Lord at 6:45 that same morning, reaching the age of one year, eight months and 27 days. The Heavenly Father saw fit to take him young, which reminds us that we are never too young or too old to die.

Randy leaves to mourn his early death the deeply sorrowing parents, one sister Marilyn Louise, one brother Daryl Lee, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George A. Fast, Jennings Lodge, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Derksen of Dallas, Oregon, uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of relatives and friends.

"But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of god" Luke 18:16.

The service was in charge of Dr. H. D. Burkholder. Rev. Paul Roth of Canby participated, with Rev. J. M. Franz bringing the message. A ladies trio consisting of Mrs. Alden Schmidt, Mrs. Gus Quiring and Mrs. Herman Fast sang, "Beautiful Beckoning Hands," "The Many Mansions," and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Miss Luella Kliewer was at the organ.
