— Death unexpectedly took one of Newton's well-known citizens last Sunday — G. G. Derby, superintendent of the middle division of the Santa Fe, and a director of the Kansas State bank, Mr. Derby passed away at Denver, where only a few hours before his death he was married to Mrs. Grace Coppage of Chanute. Acute indigestion apparently was the cause of death.
