Former Minister in Gnadenau Church dies

Hillsboro, Kan. — Funeral services were held at the Park View M. B. Church here on Oct. 30 for Rev. Jacob E. Dalke, 85, a former minister of the Gnadenau K.M.B. Church. He died Oct. 25 after a long illness.

A native of Gnadenau Village near here, Rev. Dalke was a graduate of Tabor Academy and at one time taught in the Zoar Academy at Inman. He became superintendent of the Sunday school at the Gnadenau K.M.B. Church and later was ordained to the ministry there.

He served as secretary of the former China Mennonite Mission Society, and on the boards of both the Salem Hospital and Salem Home.
