Gust Dalke

Gust Dalke was born into the home of Peter J. and Marie Unruh Dalke, July 3, 1900, at Marion, South Dakota. He was baptized and received into the membership of the Salem Mennonite church on May 19, 1918. On June 2, 1922, he was united in marriage with Esther Graber.

He leaves to mourn his bereaved wife and two sons, Wayne 13, and John 5; one sister, Mrs. Harry Graber; his mother and mother-in-law, Mrs. Peter Jas Graber, besides many relatives and friends.

His oldest child, Leslie and his borther [sic] and father preceded him in death.

His illness, muscular rheumatism, was of short duration, approximately two weeks. The Lord summoned him home on Tuesday, March 10, about 4 A.M. at the age of 41 years, 8 months and 7 days.

He was a devoted husband and father. He found joy in working in church, having served as a Sunday School teacher and having been on the board of trustees. In the last stages of his illness he had a clear premonition of his approaching death. He definitely expressed his faith and assurance in Christ and therefore set his house in order even to the smallest detail, and challanged [sic] his beloved family to meet him in the land beyond.
