text of obituary:

MRS. MARIE DAHLENBURG

Marie Delia (nee Paul) Dahlenburg, daughter of William and Ida Paul, was born Feb. 9, 1878, near Amana, Iowa. At the age of 14 she moved with her parents to a farm near Marion, Iowa where she grew to womanhood.

She regularly attended Sunday school and church services in the Methodist Prairie Church near her home and also the Lutheran Church, being baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

On Feb. 19, 1903 she married William Dahlenburg of Springfield, So. Dak. and they made their home near Old Andrus, So. Dak. This union was blessed with seven children, of whom one died in infancy.

On June 28, 1926, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour, through the preaching of God's Word by Rev. J. A. Schmidt, according to John 3:3 and 7. On June 7, 1927, she became a member of the Friedensberg Mennonite Church south of Avon, So. Dak.

Those left to mourn her departure are her devoted husband; four daughters, Mrs. Etta Ratzlaff, Springfield, S. D., Mrs. Rose Becker, Avon, S. D., Mrs. Amanda Friesen, Maurice, Iowa, Mrs. Bertha Barber, Colombia, So. America; two sons, Rev. Paul Dahlenburg, Bridgewater, So. Dak., and Rev. William Dahlenburg, Huron, So. Dak.; twenty grandchildren; two great-grandsons; three brothers, four sisters, other relatives and many friends.

She suffered many years with arthritis but always had a pleasant smile for all who came to visit her. On Sept. 11 she was suddenly seized with a light stroke as she held her Bible to read for morning worship. From then on she was bedfast. At midnight Thursday, Nov. 17, she became very ill with much pain. Whenever she spoke or prayed she witnessed to the fact that she was ready to go any time. She prayed that His will be done, and hoped He would soon come. At 9:45 Saturday evening, Nov. 19, 1955, she passed on to be with the Lord, where pain, sorrow and sadness are no more.

She attained the age of 77 years, nine months and 10 days.

She was a wonderful and understanding wife, and a wise and loving mother.

"Thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." I Cor. 15:57.
