MRS. LAURA E. CONRAD

Laura E. (Liechty) Conrad, daughter of Christian and Barbara (Conrad) Liechty, was born Mar. 22, 1881, in Plain township, Stark county, Ohio. She was an invalid the last ten years and passed away Feb. 10, 1955, at her home, 217 W. Maple, Lansing, Mich.

She grew up on a farm in Wayne county, Ohio. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Oak Grove Mennonite. church.

On Jan. 4, 1911, she was united in marriage to Jonathan Conrad of Wayland, Iowa. She lived at Wayland until 1929 when they moved to St. Johns, Mich. She moved to the Lansing address in 1947. Her husband preceded her in death in 1945.

She is survived by three daughters, Edna and Esther at home, and Arline (Mrs. Garrison Hostetler) of Louisville, Ohio; three step-daughters, Ann Conrad and Mrs. Ottis Bontrager of Eureka, Mich., and Mrs. Elmer Slagel of St. Johns, Mich.; one step-son, Daniel Conrad of Wayland, Iowa; two brothers Joseph Liechty of Alliance, Ohio, and Ervin Liechty of Orrville, \Ohio; one sister, Amanda Liechty of Wooster, Ohio; two grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren and 33 step-great-grandchildren.

In the ten years of suffering she bore her affliction patiently, and was faithfully and tenderly cared for by her daughters.

Funeral services were held from the Bethel Mennonite church Feb. 12, by John Landis, text Psa. 17:15. Interment was made in the cemetery nearby.
