PEARL COIL

Pearl Coil was born Oct. 3, 1890 in Orville, Ohio. Her parents were John and Susan (Steiner) Amstutz. In 1901 the family moved to Oklahoma where they resided on a farm near Geary. On June 1905 she was baptized upon her confession of faith by Rev. J. S. Krehbiel and accepted into the First Mennonite Church of Geary where she was an active and faithful member till her death.

On Nov. 20, 1910 she was united in marriage with Harry Coil. This union was blessed with two children, a daughter Lucille and a son Vernon Lee. A great sorrow came into her life when her boy was killed in action in Italy during the Second World War. A son-in-law Johnny McMannus also preceded her into eternity.

It was a great joy to her that last fall she and her husband could celebrate their golden wedding in the home of their daughter in Oklahoma City. For over 40 years the family lived on a farm west of Geary. For the last year and a half they resided in Oklahoma City with their daughter. Here she died in a hospital Sunday morning, May 27, reaching the age of 70 years, seven months, and 24 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Harry Coil, one daughter, Lucille McMannus of Oklahoma City; one grandson, Vernon Lee Jr. of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Funk, El Reno, Okla., Mrs. Nora Peters, Hollywood, Calif., and Mrs. Elma Payne, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Earl of Geary and Milo of Tulsa, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mother is at home with the Lord whom she loved and served while she was here with us. Some day we shall understand and some day we shall, with her, see Him as He is. — The Family.
