PETER G. CLAASSEN

Peter G. Claassen, son of John J. and Catherine Claassen, nee Penner, was born April 9, 1891, on a farm near Beatrice, Nebraska. He received his education in public and parochial schools.

Having grown up in a Christian home, he was baptized upon confession of his faith at the First Mennonite church of Beatrice by Elder Gerhard Penner on may 30, 11909. On June 12, 1924, he was married to Agatha Hamm. god blessed this union with two daughters, Erna and Marilyn.

Most of his life was spent on a farm near Beatrice until he moved to the city in 1945 where he was employed by the Store Kraft Manufacturing Company.

He enjoyed good health until April 27 when he suffered from a heart attack. He was recovering slowly until September 6 when he had another attack and was called to his eternal reward on September 16 at the age of 61 years, five months and seven days.

At his passing he leaves his wife, Agatha, and two daughters, Erna and Marilyn, both at home; two brothers, Henry P. and Gustave T.; four sisters, Katie Claassen, Mrs. Bertha Goossen, Helen Classen [sic Claassen] and Mrs. Margaret Kechely, all of Beatrice, and many relatives and friends.
