— Friends were shocked when the tragic news spread Monday morning that Herman Claassen, 64, well known farmer and stockman near Whitewater had died of a gunshot wound, apparently self-inflicted. His body was found in the barn by a son. It is reported Mr. Claassen was in ill health for some time.
