DELLA CHRISTNER

Mrs. Della Elizabeth Christner, long-time resident of the Wayland, Iowa community, died Feb. 28, 1963, at the Beauchamp Nursing Home in Winfield, Iowa where she had lived the past five months.

The funeral was held Saturday in the Wayland Mennonite Church of which she was a member. Rev. Omer Nisley and Rev. E. C. Schumacher were in charge. Burial was made in North Hill Cemetery near Wayland.

Mrs. Christner was born April 20, 1887 at Delta; a daughter of John and Arminda Miles. She was left an orphan at the age of six years and later became the foster daughter of Jacob and Mattie Roth Wenger.

On Feb. 19, 1908 she was married to John Christner. He died Nov. 24, 1962.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Emerson (Ruth) Wittrig of Crawfordsville; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Conrad of Redwood Falls, Minn.; one foster brother, Luther Heller of Boise, Idaho; one grandson and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers preceded her in death.
