MARY C. CASSEL

Mary C. Cassel, daughter of the late Edwin and Lizzie (Clemens) Krupp, was born Aug. 3, 1895; died at the Grand View hospital, Sellersville, Pa. Dec.4, 1956, aged 61 years, your months and one day. She was the wife of Wellington N. Cassel, Telford, Pa.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her stepfather, Enos Halteman; one sister, Mrs. Allen C. Moyer, Souderton, Pa.; a brother, Howard, Baltimore, Md.; a half sister, Mrs. Reuben Diller, Cass Lake, Minn.; three stepbrothers, Alvin of Souderton, Isaac of Franconia, and Preston of Souderton.

During the war many of the C. P. S. boys employed at Norristown State hospital had a home away from home because of her hospitality.

During June and July 1955 she accompanied her husband on a trip to Europe. Six months after her return she suddenly became ill, entering Grand View Hospital for surgery on Jan. 26, 1956. She underwent surgery a second time on Feb. 24, and returned home on good Friday. During the past summer she seemed to make some recovery but on Nov. 4 she reentered the hospital and gradually became weaker. On Dec. 4 at 2:15 in the morning she went to meet her Lord whom she loved so much.

Funeral services were held Dec. 9 from the the [sic] Souderton Mennonite Church, where she was a member, in charge of Jacob M. Moyer, Stanley Beidler, and Kenneth Good, with interment in the Franconia Mennonite Cemetery.
