Retired Grocer Dies At Goshen, Ind.

Goshen, Ind. — Thomas L. Byler, well known retired grocer here, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the home on Route 5 near Goshen Feb. 4.

A native of Garden City, Kan. [sic Mo.], he was married there to the former Nancy Schrock. He farmed there and at Garden City, Kan. and at Garden City before coming to Goshen 24 years ago. He operated the Parkside and Purl Street groceries here for 16 years.

Surviving are his widow; five sons, Vernon, Rolland, Glen and Robert, all of Syracuse, and John D. of Washington, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Jacob Suderman of Elkhart, Mrs. Lewis Powell of Keota, Iowa, and Mrs. Jon Yoder of East Lansing, Mich.; 17 grandchildren, one great grandchild; three brothers and three sisters.
