MRS. CHARLES BUTE

Funeral services were held June 2 for Mrs. Chas. Bute, 80, who died Wednesday after a long illness with a heart condition.

Last rites were conducted at the home at 1:30 p. m. and in the Mennonite church of Alpha, Minn. at 2:30. Officiating ministers were C. J. Garber and Noah Landis. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery at Jackson with Lloyd Garber, Roy Garber, Ed Hartzler, Russell Shearer, Elmer Landis and Frank Garber pallbearers.

Mrs. Bute, the former Anise Leatherman, was born March 7, 1875, in Indiana, the daughter of Frank Leatherman and Hattie Lehman Leatherman. She attended the school at Wakarusa, Ind., and on Jan. 1, 1897, was married in Jackson to Mr. Bute.

Survivors are Mr. Bute, nine children, 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The children are James Bute and Mrs. Edd (Ina) Garber of Alpha, Warren Bute of Jackson, Elmer Bute in Montana, Mrs. George (Grace) Miller and Mrs. Forest (Julia) Laufraw of Goshen, Ind., Mrs. Martin (Gertrude) Miller of Lake Crystal, Minn., Mrs. Archie (Bertha) Hartzler of Lakefield, and Ed Bute of Anderson, Ind.
