Infant Girl Killed When Van Overturns
Ephrata, Pa. — A van carrying 15 passengers skidded and overturned on wet Route 222 east of Reading Sunday morning, May 30, fatally injuring five-month-old Katie H. Burkholder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac M. Burkholder of rural Kutztown. She died in a hospital several hours after the accident.
The parents and nine other children were also passengers, but escaped serious injury.
Funeral services for the little girl were held June 2 and Center Mennonite Church, Kutztown, and the home of Isaac M. Hoover.
