Rare Illness Fatal to Youth

Orrville, Ohio. — An unusual illness, the cause of which was not determined immediately, proved fatal March 26 to Glenn Richard Burckhart at the Children’s hospital, Akron.

The 13 year old youth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton K. Burckhart, became ill suddenly and paralysis of the limbs developed, later spreading to other parts of the body. It was thought the illness might have been caused by a bite from an insect or a farm animal parasite.

In addition to the parents, he is survived by three sisters. Mrs. Velma Wenger of Orrville, Eleanor and Lois of the home, and his grandmother, Mrs. Ida Horst. Funeral services were held at the Martin's Mennonite church. Elmer Good and Cleophus Steiner officiating.
