MRS. PETER P. BULLER

Magaretha Buller, nee Epp, was born in Paulsheim, South Russia, on October 1, 1870, and died on August 19, 1951, attaining an age of 80 years, 10 months and 19 days.

In 1877 on July 4 she arrived with her parents and other members of the family in Sutton, Nebraska, immigrating from Russia. In 1889 she was baptized upon the confession of her faith by the Elder Peter J. Friesen and accepted as a member into the Bethesda Mennonite church, Henderson, Nebraska.

In 1890 she was united in marriage to Peter P. Buller. This union lasted for 61 years, five months, and 20 days. Twelve children were born to this union of whom two have preceded her in death: one infant son and one daughter, Magaretha, Mrs. K. T. Friesen.

Remaining to mourn her departure are her husband, Peter P. Buller; five sons, Benjamin P. of York, Cornelius P. of Grafton, Klass P. of Henderson, Peter E. of Omaha and Henry P. of Newton, Kansas; five daughters, Katharine, Mrs. D. C. Quiring of Henderson, Elizabeth, Mrs. David Regier of Lushton, Sara and Maria of Ontario, California, and Anna, Mrs. John Warde of Los Angeles, California; five daughters-in-law, four sons-in-law, 44 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.

She passed away peacefully after an hour of sickness (coronary thrombosis) in her home in Ontario, California, where they had made their home for the last fifteen years.

On August 24, funeral services were held at the First Mennonite church in Upland, California, of which she was a member since moving to California. Rev. Reynold W. Weinbrenner officiated. On September 1 final services were held at the old farm home at the Bethesda church, Henderson, Nebraska. Rev. J. K. Siemens of Hillsboro, Kans. spoke at the home. At the church Rev. John F. Epp spoke in German and Rev. A. W. Friesen in English. Rev. Arnold Nickel officiated at the cemetery. She was laid to rest at the Mennonite cemetery near her home southeast of Henderson.

At Rest

Yes, Mother’s voice is silent,
Her harp of life’s unstrung.
While here she lived for Jesus
She long His praises sang.

For her earth’s journey’s over
In Heaven she’s at rest
And we, (her dearly loved ones)
Can surely call her blest.

Oh, to be sure we’re lonely
Since she has gone away
And yet, we know, forever
Down here she could not stay.

There’s peace and satisfaction
To know that she’s at rest
To know she's with her Savior
To know she’s Heaven’s guest.

— The Bereaved Family
