KATHRINA BULLER

Our loving mother, Kathrina Buller, nee Heidebrecht, was born on March 14, 1871, to Rev. Peter and Elizabeth Heidebrecht, then living in the village of Waldheim, South Russia. She passed away on April 12, 1957, at 7:00 o'clock in the morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Katie Jantzen, Meno, Okla. She attained the age of 86 years and 29 days.

In 1874 she came with her parents to America and settled on a farm in McPherson County, Kansas. Here she enjoyed the days of her youth and also received her education. At the age of 18 the Lord convicted her of her sins and her need of a Saviour. After much prayer she found forgiveness of her sins in the Blood of the Lamb. She received Bible instruction, and was baptized upon the confession of her faith and received as member into the fellowship of the Hopedale Mennonite Church, Inman, Kansas, on Dec. 26, 1889, by Elder Detrich Gaeddert.

On Nov. 13, 1892, she was joined in holy bonds of matrimony with Jacob B. Buller. this union was blessed with eight children, all of whom are living.

In 1926 she and her husband moved to Fairview, Okla. where they shared the joys of married life for a few years, for on January 7, 1928, less than two years later, the Lord called father unto Himself. With her strong faith in the Lord, mother continued her duties and responsibilities with the family. In May 1928 she transferred her membership to the Saron Mennonite Church at Orienta, Okla.

The following are words which mother herself wrote in the German language, "In the year of 1938, I suffered much with eye trouble, namely cataracts on my eyes, so that I could not see to read God's Word any more; two separate operations were performed on my eyes which proved very successful. In spite of all this suffering, the Lord never forsook me, even in the darkest hours. He was very near me through His Word and Spirit. Yes, the Lord helped me above all that I could ask or think, the name of the Lord be praised. I found much comfort in Psalm 73: 23-26. I wish that these verses be used as a test for my funeral."

In 1955 she had a severe attack of asthma from which she partly recovered, but on May 1, 1956, she suffered a stroke and remained an invalid until her death. It was her wish to remain in her daughter's home until her death and this wish was granted her. She passed away quietly on April 12.

He parents, her husband, one son-in-law and five grandchildren preceded her in death. She is survived by five sons, Peter B. Buller of Orienta, Okla., Jacob J. Buller, of Dallas, Oregon; Henry L. Buller of Commerce, Okla., Herman Buller of San Lois, Calif.; and John P. Buller of Hooker, Okla.; three daughters, Mrs. Katie Jantzen of Meno, Okla., Elizabeth, Mrs. Carl Hintergardt of Orienta, Mary, Mrs. Abe Pauls of Fairview, two brothers, A. Q. Heidebrecht of Burrton, Kansas, and D. C. Heidebrecht of Buhler, Kansas; five daughters-in-law and two sons-in-law; 35 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren.

She was a loving mother and we rejoice that she could go to be with her Lord and to her heavenly rest. — The Family.
