• Funeral services for Mrs. Helena Buller, 83 [sic 89], a resident of Newton since 1923, were held Saturday forenoon at the First Mennonite Church. Rev. Arnold Epp, the pastor, officiated. Mrs. Buller died June 27 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital where she had been a patient for a month. Born in South R</span>ussia in 1874, she came to this country in 1892. Her husband, Peter J. Buller, died in1952. Survivors include two daughters, two sons, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

MRS. HELENA BULLER

Mrs. Helena Buller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Helena (Harder) Androes, was born on April 8, 1874 in the village of Lichtenau, South Russia. On June 5, 1892 she was baptized on the confession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour by Rev. William Voth and was received as member into the Mennonite church. On June 24, 1892 she and her parents came to the United States and settled near Buhler, Kan. She became a member of the Hofnungsau Mennonite church.

She was married to Peter J. Buller on Nov. 23, 1901. They shared a happy married life and six children were born to this union. In August,1926 they moved to Newton, and in July, 1930, transferred membership to the First Mennonite church in Newton, where she remained a faithful member until the time of her death. On Nov. 23, 1951 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. In 1952, Mr. Buller was killed in an accident on the highway near Newton.

In February, 1958 she suffered a heart attack which required a year of rest, and recovered to good health again. After her 88th birthday in 1962 she stayed a short while at the home for aged at Inman, Kan. In 1963 she moved back to Newton to remain at her daughter's home. On May 27 she was admitted to the Bethel Deaconess Hoispital [sic]. On Jun 27 she quietly passed away at the age of 89 years, two months and 18 days.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen and husband B. D. Enders, and Kathryn and husband J. T. Willems of Newton; two sons, Allen P. and wife Dorothy, and John D. and wife Dorothy of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.

One son died in infancy in 1902 and one daughter (Sarah) Mrs. H. B. Voth and baby Lola May died in January, 1938. Mrs. Buller's three sisters and six brothers all preceded her in death. The funeral service was held Saturday, June 29, in the First Mennonite Church of Newton, conducted by Rev. Arnold A. Epp. Interment was at the Greenwood cemetery.
