FRED E. BULLER

Fred E. Buller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Friedrich Buller, was born on June 24, 1889 near Marion, S. D. He was baptized upon his profession of faith at the age of 15 by Rev. Friedrich Schartner.

In 1911 Mr. Buller moved to Dawson County, Montana and homesteaded in the Bloomfield area. On Oct. 2, 1913 he was united in marriage with Emma Senner at Bloomfield, Mont. Since 1947 they have made their home in Glendive. Mr. Buller was a member of the Bethlehem Mennonite Church of Bloomfield and became a charter member of the First Mennonite Church of Glendive in 1950.

Though Mr. Buller had been in failing health for over a year, the diagnosis of leukemia came upon clinical examination only two and one-half weeks before his death. It was then decided to seek treatment at a clinic in Dallas, Texas. There he received blood transfusion and further treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Buller and son Lawrence then left Dallas for Glendive, arriving at his granddaughter's home in Laurel, Nebr. on Friday evening, Oct. 29. Because his condition grew worse, he was taken to a Sioux City, Iowa hospital, 40 miles away, by ambulance. He passed away there on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 30, at the age of 76.

Mr. Buller leaves his wife, a son Lawrence, and a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Nickels, all of Glendive: four granddaughters and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Abe Buller of Marion, S. D., and Ike Buller of Richey, Mont.; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Deckert of Sidney, Mont. and Mrs. Jack Deckert of Wetaskiwin, Alberta. His parents and one son, Lester Dale, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Nov. 4, 1965 at 2 p.m. in the First Mennonite Church of Glendive, with Rev. Bruno Penner officiating. Interment was made in the Bethlehem Mennonite Cemetery at Bloomfield, Montana.
