MRS. ANNA WIENS BULLER

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."

Anna E. Wiens Buller was born on Jan. 9, 1901, near Inman, Kansas to John M. and Margaret Ediger Wiens. She spent her childhood and youth in this community, receiving her elementary education in the Golden Rule School.

Anna had been handicapped with her eyesight all her life. In fact, she was almost totally blind at birth, but with medical aid her sight was improved. She found, however, that she had to memorize much due to her poor sight.

She always loved music and found much joy in participating in the various music organizations in the community during her youth and especially in the service of the Lord later in life, singing at church services and special occasions and for the sick and shut-ins.

On June 16, 1918 she was baptized upon the confession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour by the Elder Klaas Kroeker and became a member of the Bethel Mennonite church south of Inman.

In 1929 her parents with their family moved to Texline, Texas, to pioneer on the plains of the West. Here they worked hard on the farm, but always found time and joy to help in the service of the Lord. In 1930 Anna transferred her membership to the Plainsview church where she was a faithful member until they moved to Meade, Kansas in 1935. After two years, in 1937, they moved back to Inman, Kansas. Here she joined the Inman Mennonite church and remained a faithful member until she transferred her membership to the First Mennonite church of Hillsboro, Kansas in march of 1951.

After returning to Inman from the West the parents both passed away within a few months. After this Anna found employment in the community at various jobs throughout the years until she was joined in holy matrimony to John Buller on July 26, 1949 by Rev. Aaron J. Epp, after which they lived in Hillsboro, Kansas. Here they spent their few joyous years together. She and her husband were active in the work of the church, being appointed by the church as one of the couples who were to help in visitation work.

Recently her health began to fail and she spent some time in the hospital at several intervals this fall. Though we cannot understand, yet God in his divine Providence saw fit to call her home to Glory on Dec. 1, 1954, at 12:30 p.m., reaching the age of 53 years, 10 months, and 22 days.

She leaves to mourn, her beloved husband, John; two step-daughters, Frieda, Mrs. G. J. Adcock of Colorado, Edna, Mrs. Rueben Koehn; one step-son, Harry, of Liberal, Kansas; five brothers, Ed. E., Frank, Menno, Elmer and Levi, all of Inman; three sisters, Katherine, Mrs. Ike Friesen of Meade, Esther, Mrs. Victor Martens of Newton, Susie, Mrs. Ed. V. Regier of Conway. Her parents and four sisters preceded her in death. Besides her immediate family many relatives and a host of friends mourn her passing.
