WILHELM BUHLER

Wilhelm Buhler was born on August 8, 1898 in the village of Gregorafka in southern Russia. He married Anna Unger on September 17,1923, and they moved to Canada in 1925. The Buhlers settled and farmed in the Niverville, Man., area until retiring to Steinbach in 1962.

At the age of 24 years, Mr. Buhler accepted the Lord as his Saviour at a revival tent meeting in Gregorafka. He later served as a deacon in the Niverville Mennonite Brethren Church. His wife Anna passed away shortly after they had moved to Steinbach. On December 6, 1969 he and (Mrs.) Annie Neufeld Fast were married in Leamington, Ont. They enjoyed a large family, friends and the church. At the age of 78 years, Mr. Buhler passed away on January 29, 1978.

He was predeceased by two sons, Wilhelm and Peter, and one granddaughter, Helga Buhler. Left to mourn are his beloved wife Annie; three daughters, Mary (Mrs. Harvey) Wiebe, Annie (Mrs. John) Hildebrand, and Susie (Mrs. Leonard) Reimer; four sons: Abram, Henry, Peter and Harry; several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; eight step-children: Elsa (Mrs. Peter) Koop, Helen (Mrs. Jay) Koop, Jacob Fast, Frank Fast, Bob Fast, Bill Fast, George Fast and Henry Fast; three sisters, Mary (Mrs. Isaac) Loewen, Helen (Mrs. Peter) Enns, and Katie (Mrs. Henry) Pauls; a brother, Frank; and many friends.
