MARY GOOD BRENNEMAN

Mary Good Brenneman, daughter of Simon P. and Barbara Greider Good, was born in Allen County near Elida, Ohio on August 1,1891. She passed on to her reward July 10, 1957, age 65 years, 11 months and nine days, after a sickness of 15 years.

She accepted Christ as her Savior in early life and took an active part in church work as long as health permitted. As a young woman, she had a special interest in young people and was very helpful in promoting wholesome activities among them. For many years she was a Sunday school teacher, continuing some time after her affliction began. She also served her fellowmen as a nurse.

Her friendliness and interest in others won for her many friends who were a great help to her in her times of discouragement. She was deeply concerned about the spiritual welfare of her family and at her request a re-dedication service was held around her bedside a short time before her passing. Later she requested some young folks to sing for her.

On April 4, 1926, she was united in marriage to Herschel Brenneman who survives along with one step-son, Carroll Brenneman of R. 2 Delphos; three daughters, Jeanette Gossard of R. 2, Elida, Joan, Mrs. Joe Thoman of West Liberty, Ohio, Charlotte at home; and seven grandchildren.

She also is survived by three sisters, Anna, Mrs. John Brenneman, and Mrs. Rebecca Troyer of Elida, and Clara, Mrs. Robert Ross of Denbigh, Va., and one brother, Menno Good of Elida. Two preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at Central church, Elida, Ohio on Saturday, July 13, 1957, with the home ministers in charge.
